Women's Land Rights: What Does it Take? Why Does it Matter?

Event Description
The importance of land rights is widely recognized.  However, there are widespread gender gaps in control over assets, particularly land.  This presentation will review the reasons why women's land rights, in particular, are important for poverty reduction and empowerment of women, and what is needed to strengthen the property rights of women, with a focus on developing countries in Africa and Asia. This event is sponsored by the Meramec Business Club.
